INTRODUCTION
On-Grid Systems are solar PV systems that only generate power when the utility power grid or other power generation sources are available. They must connect to the grid to function. These are simplest systems and the most cost effective to install. These systems will pay for themselves by offsetting utility bills in 3-6 yrs. depending on the existing consumption unit from either grid like K-Electric & WAPDA or from self-generation source like Diesel Generators, Gas Generators etc.
In Solar on-grid system, the solar power synchronizes with the primary source like grid or Gensets to utilize the solar generation on first priority to reduce the utility bills or consumption of fuel for Gensets. Following are the conditions of feed in management for running load.
- If the demand of the load consumption is exceeding than grid feed the power to the load.
- If the demand is less than the generation of solar power, then its feedback to grid This trend is a concept called “net metering.
ADVANTAGES OF ON-GRID SYSTEM
- Reduced energy bills.
- More power for less cost.
- Simple and elegant design.
- Cheaper, reliable and environment friendly.
- Avoid battery maintenance.
- Addition of net metering enables you to save more money.
