Lucky Cement Limited, Karachi hired expertise of OES to overhaul their 15MW HCTC Waste Heat Recovery Steam Turbine installed at their cement facility. Steam Turbine was installed in 2009-2010 and completed 80,000 plus running hours. For overhaul LCL choose OES to carry out the work keeping in consideration Company’s past expertise in maintenance, repair and overhaul of Steam turbine.
OES team successfully completed overhauling of steam turbine which improved the capability of steam turbine to generate 12.5 MW, earlier the turbine was not able to run beyond 4.5MW load. This successful commissioning adds another milestone in OES service sector profile.
OES scope of services included, but not limited to, as follows:
• Rotor Sand Blasting
• Rotor journal grinding, polishing and balancing
• NDT Testing
• Grinding, White metaling and polishing of turbine bearing
OES team completed the job without OEM presence and successful commissioning was done within the stipulated time frame without any failure and turbine started running successfully.
Successful completion of turbine overhaul has opened up new avenues for OES and customers are relying on OES for a reliable solution for steam turbine maintenance and overhauls in absence of OEMs personnel thus reducing the cost of overhaul services.
